Cabana Ceala Arad Recommendation

The Mureș Floodplain Natural Park was established in 2005 and covers an area of 17,455 hectares, following the course of the Mureș River for 88 kilometers — from the outskirts of Arad to the border with Hungary, near the village of Cenad. Since 2006, the area has been designated as a Ramsar site, a wetland of international importance, and since 2009, it has been included in Romania’s EDEN (European Destinations of Excellence) network of protected natural areas. The Ceala Visitor Center, which also serves as the headquarters of the park’s administration (under the Romsilva National Forest Authority), is located in the Ceala Forest, just 6 kilometers from downtown Arad and 2 kilometers from the A1 highway. It is a perfect place for relaxation and outdoor activities. The center is officially classified as a 2-star villa by the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism (2010). There are 34 beds available in 13 rooms, with prices depending on the number of beds per room. Each room has its own bathroom, cable TV, and Wi-Fi. The building also offers a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, a terrace, and a 60-seat conference room equipped with simultaneous translation equipment. For outdoor leisure, the park’s administration provides ecotourism services that combine sport, fun, and nature appreciation. Visitors can rent bicycles or canoes, or request guided tours and other recreational activities. For organized groups of 10 or more students aged 6–18, the park offers environmental education workshops, held both indoors and outdoors. Participants will learn about the park’s ecosystem, local fauna and flora, and broader environmental protection topics. Near the Ceala Visitor Center, there are several free-to-use picnic pavilions and built-in grills. The area is child-friendly and well-suited for families, with space for play, picnics, and nature breaks. A medium-length zip line is also located nearby and is a popular seasonal attraction.
