Only accommodation services are provided! The cabin is located on the shore of Lake Buhui, a reservoir built at the end of the 19th century and inaugurated in 1908. Initially constructed to supply water to the town of Anina, the lake is still used for this purpose, but its tourist appeal lies in the natural landscape surrounding it. Located in the heart of the Anina Mountains, Lake Buhui is close to the town of Anina. Lake Buhui is Romania’s first artificial lake created on karst terrain. The karstic relief, characterized by numerous fissures in the rock, allows rapid surface water infiltration into underground cavities of varying sizes, making Lake Buhui a remarkable feat of engineering. Nearby tourist attractions include: Buhui Cave, the Anina-Oravița railway, Mihai Eminescu Theater in Oravița, Ochiul Beiului – a lake that never freezes, Bigăr Waterfall, Maial Livezi – a scenic viewpoint, the site where Mathias Hammer discovered coal, Ponor Cave, Tilva Zinei Ponor/Crivina Cave, Buhui Grotto, Viaduct, and the first Schlucht tunnel, among others.
