Belis commune is located at an altitude of 1,050 meters, surrounded by the Gilaului and Bihor-Vladeasa Mountains, in a region known as "The Land of the Moti people".
The main attraction of the area is Lake Fantanele, located on the ruins of an old village that was moved to a hill in the 1970s. During dry summers, when the lake level drops, you can see the ruins of the houses, especially those of the church.
