Accommodation Praid

Praid is one of the most well-known tourist destinations in Harghita County, located in eastern Transylvania, along the valley of the Târnava Mică River, about 10 km from Sovata and around 80 km from Miercurea Ciuc. The village is especially famous for the Praid Salt Mine, one of the largest and most visited salt mines in Romania.

The Praid Salt Mine represents the main attraction of the area, valued both for its historical importance and for the therapeutic benefits of the saline air. Inside the mine there are spaces designed for relaxation and leisure, playgrounds, resting areas and treatment facilities for respiratory conditions. The constant temperature and the air rich in salt aerosols attract thousands of visitors every year.

Praid is also a convenient starting point for exploring nearby attractions such as the Sovata Resort and the famous Bear Lake, the Gurghiu Mountains area or the Zetea Reservoir. In the surrounding region visitors can also discover traditional villages of Székely Land, where local gastronomy and regional customs are still well preserved.
