Located at the foot of the Retezat Mountains, the cabin is only a 15-minute gondola ride away from the Straja resort. With a perfect positioning in a picturesque landscape and in the immediate vicinity of a spruce forest, the cabin is the ideal place for hiking enthusiasts, peace, and privacy. Fishing lovers can practice this activity in the immediate vicinity, at trout. Just one kilometer away from the cabin is Lake Campu lui Neag, offering a dreamlike landscape.
There is also the possibility of taking a short trip on Valea Marii or Valea Lazarului to admire the beautiful waterfalls in the area. If you are looking for a more intense challenge, you can follow a 2.5-hour trail to the summit of Piatra Iorgovanului (2014 m), an impressively sculpted and rounded rock that offers a panorama that will leave you speechless. From here, you can admire Oslea and Retezatul Mic, Godeanu, Valea Cernei, Muntii Cernei, and Muntii Mehedinti, with the giants of Retezat in the foreground: Papusa and Peleaga. Another 2-3 hour trail will take you to Stana Scorota, located in a wide valley, offering a superb landscape, with Piule peak on the left and Dalma with Brazi and Culmea Dragusanu in front.
