Cabana Popasul Haiducilor is one of the most sought-after destinations in the Jiu Valley, winning over guests with the quality of its services and its location—sheltered from city noise, in a green clearing at the foot of the Parâng Mountains.
From the very beginning, we have aimed to provide our guests with the best services, constantly improving their comfort. Many of our guests, who first visited years ago, return every year to relax and rediscover these enchanting landscapes.
Where to find us
We are located 3 km from Petroșani, on the road leading to Voineasa and the Rânca resort. The Parâng ski slope chairlift is just 7 km away. You can find the exact address and GPS coordinates in the Contact section.
What we offer
We welcome you with 13 rooms equipped with double beds, cable TV, mini-bar, and private bathroom with hot and cold running water. We also recommend our restaurant, where you can enjoy traditional Romanian dishes. Take a walk in the fresh air and explore the beautiful surroundings.
What to visit
Discover the Parâng Mountains and their chain of glacial lakes near Parângu Mare Peak, the fifth highest in Romania. You can also go hiking in the Retezat Mountains (Lake Bucura and others), the Vâlcan Mountains (Straja resort), or visit the Dacian fortress at Bănița, the Crivadia lookout point, and Bolii Cave—all part of the Cioclovina–Sarmizegetusa Regia Nature Reserve.
If you head towards Voineasa, explore the trails to Obârșia Lotrului, the Sebeș Valley, Lake Vidra, and the Transalpina road—an untamed route rising above 2,000 m (Urdele Pass 2,145 m), full of scenic beauty and adventure.
