If you want to teleport yourself to a place where time seems to have lost its passing for tens of years, maybe even centuries, then your destination is Breb! We are a family of Maramures natives who are waiting for you with open arms in an authentic experience in our traditional wooden houses, built about a century ago and carefully restored to preserve the charm of past times. Here you will not only find accommodation, but a unique adventure that you shouldn't miss!
Each house bears the name of the elders who lived in them and made them vibrant with stories. The House of Pistau and the House of Stefan will resonate with flavors and memories forever. We preserve every authentic detail of these places, while also providing you with all the comfort and modern amenities you need and appreciate.
In the House of Pistau, you will find 3 double bedrooms, and in the House of Stefan, there are 2 triple bedrooms. Each house has a bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room decorated with refurbished traditional items. One of the bedrooms even has a cradle for the youngest guests. We even have a play area full of toys because family is important to us, and we want all guests to feel at home here in our village.
I am a father of five boys who returned to the village to relive childhood and the simple joys of rural life. It gives me great pleasure to invite you to discover the charm of our traditional houses and to feel the peace and happiness of Breb, our beloved village in Maramures. :)
We welcome you with warmth and love, and we will guide you on an authentic journey into the traditional life of the Maramures village. We enjoy socializing with our guests and showing them all the beauties our village has to offer.
We recommend that you also try traditional Romanian dishes at our restaurant, Casa lui Dochia, located nearby, to complete your gastronomic experience. Our food is prepared with fresh ingredients from local farmers, following traditional recipes passed down from generation to generation. Children up to 10 years old receive a free breakfast.
Casa lui Dochia is open every year from Easter until January 10 next year.
Explore our beautiful village on foot or opt for a horse-drawn cart ride for a truly memorable experience. Nearby you can find Lake Taul Morarenilor, Vârful Creasta Cocosului, and green landscapes and forests stretching to the horizon - we recommend you discover them on foot or explore them on mountain bike trails.
