Casa Chira, an authentic peasant construction, is located near the Vaser River, close to the steam train (mocanita), inviting you to spend a few days in the amazing landscape of Maramures. Situated in the historic center of Maramures, near the historical monuments of the Iza Valley and Viseului Valley, at the beginning of the steam train route, our house welcomes you with tranquility, the sound of water, and the chirping of birds, offering you moments of relaxation accompanied by traditional Maramures music.
Right next to us is the Merry Cemetery, with amusing epitaphs about the customs of the local inhabitants, equally amusing as they are interesting. Come to admire the tallest wooden structures in Europe, to discover the authentic peasant life, but also the emotional past of the Romanian elites from Sighet.
The horinca (plum brandy) is ready for you, waiting for you to savor its aroma and enjoy unique moments in this world imbued with tradition and superstitions.
Casa Chira is the refuge you need to escape from your daily routine, a traditional house with modern facilities, where you can live for a few days in an atmosphere taken from Creanga's stories. You can enjoy coffee on the flower-filled terrace, listening to the roosters singing and delighting in the first rays of the morning.
We offer 7 rooms, each with its own bathroom, TV, and lots of good vibes, which you bring from home or can enhance with a little horinca, a drink that warms the heart and soul.
Furthermore, we provide a fully equipped kitchen, a gazebo for barbecue, and even a tomcat named Figaro, who is waiting to be part of your joy, photographed and petted.
