Legend has it that the old Trappold, known as Polt or Pult in the Saxon dialect, is closely linked to the polders that drained the waters in the area many centuries ago. The story goes that the giant who shaped the hills arrived here, on the hilltops, after a long journey. He rested and left his mark, transforming the marshy land into a charming landscape, full of legends that can be discovered right at the fortified church in Apold.
At Trappold House, traditions are carefully preserved. Women used to bake the most delicious bread in the courtyard of the house, and the authentic atmosphere will entice you to feel at home. The refurbished Saxon furniture, the lovingly remade old beams, everything will take you back to the 13th century.
