Accommodation Ocna Sibiului

Ocna Sibiului is a town located approximately 15 km north-west of the city of Sibiu, in an area with a long tradition in salt mining. The locality is known as one of the most important spa resorts in Transylvania, thanks to its salt lakes formed as a result of former mining activities.

The complex of salt lakes in Ocna Sibiului includes more than 10 lakes, among which the most well-known are Brâncoveanu Lake, Horea Lake and Avram Iancu Lake. The salty water and sapropelic mud are used in the treatment of rheumatic, dermatological and respiratory conditions, and the high salt concentration allows visitors to float easily, offering an experience similar to that of the Dead Sea.

In addition to its spa component, the resort offers leisure areas, arranged beaches, swimming pools and relaxation facilities. During the summer season, Ocna Sibiului becomes a popular destination for both tourists from Sibiu County and visitors from other regions of Romania.
