The Ursoaia Hunting Cabin is managed by the Putna Forestry Office, part of the Suceava Forestry Directorate. It is located on the northeastern slope of the Obcina Mare ridges in the Eastern Carpathians, at an altitude of 650 meters. Situated in U.P. I Putna, unit 39C2, the cabin is set in a 0.7-hectare clearing near the Putna stream. Nearby tourist attractions include: Putna Monastery, Sihăstria Putnei Monastery, Daniil Sihastru Monastery, Daniil Sihastru’s Cell, and the Wooden Church of Dragoș Vodă – the oldest wooden church in Europe. The cabin is only 2 km from National Road 2H, on the Bivolărie - Putna route.
